Great product!!! (+ installation recommendation)
This is a fantastic product if your looking to get your dryer as close to the wall as possible. We were able to gain an additional 3.0" (3in. Closer to the wall). If you need to modify the offset, you will need tin snips and aluminum foil tape. Also if you have a laser level, use it.Align the center line of the dryer output to the C/L of the offset. This will establish coaxial alignment so your vent doesn't tweek when pushed back.Use a sharpie marker and mark on the sheet metal where to cut. Remove, cut and seal with tape.Reinstall, use 6.0" of flex vent for union. Install flex vent to dryer with hose clap loose on union side. Push dryer to wall, slip vent onto offset adapter and foil tape to ensure no leaks. Tighten clamps. And done!

Works better than I expected
We have a very small laundry room and the dryer had to be pushed almost all the way to the wall in order to sit flush with the space it sits in. This part is exactly what we've needed for almost 30-years and I never knew these existed until recently. After installing we've had no issues and it seems to work great as well as give us the room we've always needed. Good quality part, needs a little trimming to fit your application, but works very well.

Great if you need the extra space it provides!
Got this mainly to replace a hose. Thought I would try an alternative since this device lets me push my dryer back closer to the wall. Installation was not exactly easy and required a good amount of aluminum duct tape, but here's what I had to do:Completely remove my washer and dryer out of the room (my laundry room is small and tightly packed). Then I had to size the vent from my dryer to the outside vent hole. I had to cut the excess aluminum off with some snips. I also used a pair of scissors, as it made some cutting angles easier. The parts I cut were extremely sharp.I then almost completely wrapped the vent in aluminum duct tape to cover all the holes and gaps so no air could leak through. Since it's adjustable and slides, it has a lot of cracks and gaps that was needed to be filled. I even taped the cracks in the vent holes, which did prevent them from rotating, but I wasn't bothered by that. I just wanted no hot dryer air to leak out at all.I then connect the vent to the outside vent hole, then with some help, slid the dryer into place while lining the vent holes up. All done! One problem with this vent, as opposed to a hose, is that you can't move the dryer around once you set it in place. If you do, you may disconnect the vent, which, in my case, means moving our washing machine out to be able to reach the vent connections again.Another problem is that I had to use a lot of aluminum tape to properly seal it, which was tedious. But no air is leaking out and our laundry room doesn't get hot at all anymore!I definitely recommend this if you want to be able to push your dryer back as close to the wall as you can (2 to 3 inches for me). But if you aren't concerned with needed extra space, I'd stick with a regular duct hose. It's much more hassle free and easy.

Quality Material
I've used this type of vent before. Unfortunately, it would not fit on my new washer dryer tower unit. I gave the product 4 stars because it is well made, not flimsy.

Not SS
I am tired of people advertising that their parts are stainless then it shows up and it is aluminum. If the part is aluminum tell people it is aluminum not stainless steel. Other than that it worked fine.

Never Knew I Needed This
File this under one of those products that you never knew you needed it until you knew you needed it! I looked at it about a year ago, shortly after moving into my current house, but read some bad reviews. So instead, I opted for the traditional, semi-rigid duct. And of course, it immediately got squashed between my clothes dryer and the wall.So here's my setup, in case it helps anyone else. The dryer vent duct in my wall is about 10" above the baseboard. It is in a place that allows exactly for the washer to be placed next to it, in a corner. The dryer vent duct is, obviously, at the base of the dryer. Hence, I had about 10" between the two. Due to the layout of my laundry area, the dryer needs to be pushed as close to the wall as possible. With a semi-rigid duct, this meant it was squished to just an inch or so thick. This presents a huge fire hazard, because lint will likely clog up that narrow opening. After replacing that duct several times, always with the same result, I decided to try this "periscope."Straight out of the box, I could tell this thing was exactly what I needed. Simply slide the ends closer to each other. Despite what others say on here, you likely will have to cut the excess off. Maybe not on the end that attaches to the duct in your wall, but most likely on the end that attaches to your dryer. If you think about it, it makes sense - your dryer vent is likely within 1" of the floor. If the duct extends more than 1" beyond the vent, then it will scrape against your floor. However, with tin snips, the cutting took all of about 30 seconds. I did tape all of the ends off, since they're a little sharp. And I taped around some of the joints where the pieces clasp over one another, to ensure a good seal. This went on SO easy. I've run several loads since installing it, and reached down to feel it. It is not at all hot. And I feel no air coming out of the sides or ends, which I was a little worried about. Best of all, it allows my dryer to fit snug up against my wall, a few inches offset of the wall duct, without compromising the venting functionality.Wow, I'm impressed. I never knew these things existed. But I wish I'd pulled the trigger and bought it, a year ago, when I first came across it. It's just perfect!

meh.
very thin, poor quality... vents broke off just trying to install in tight space (the whole reason for buying it)
