JMK 03125 White Magic Sponge Eraser - 4 Pack

I was aware sponges would be a little smaller. I had some tight places to clean, so that was ok. I just did not think they were as effective as other sponge erasers I have used. They were adequate on my stainless steel sink, but on everything else, not so much. They were useless on anything greasy. I would not buy again.

I have been using what are called "magic erasers" for some time now. They are very dense white rectangles that when wet, virtually erase all kinds of dirt and marks from hard surfaces. They are not meant for cleaning food service such as plates, flatware, pots and pans, but they work great on almost everything else. One good thing about them is that they are so dense that there is very little air space, unlike a normal sponge, for bacteria to grow, so they don't get stinky.This JMK White Magic Sponge Eraser is misleading. They are not magic erasers, they are just white sponges. They are not dense, they are sponge-like. They get stinky like a sponge and they don't erase.Good magic erasers are getting harder to find these days. Maybe because Proctor and Gamble (Mr. Clean) has been buying up competitors? Just a wild guess. The Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are just a more expensive version of these JMK things (whatever they really are). When I find the good ones, I buy a few packs. They seems to be more ecologically sound because I'm not throwing them away like I do sponges when they get nasty, and they wear down to a nub like an eraser (I'm talking about the good ones here, not the JMK's). I have no idea what happens to this stuff when it gets mixed with water down the drain though, so I may be totally misguided thinking they are better than sponges for the environment.The main thing I wanted to get across is, as I said, this product is misleading. It's a white sponge. Nothing more.
